Sydney & Mike are Married!

October 9, 2023

Today was a beautiful, windy fall day and it reminded me so much of this wedding day at Bishops Bay last year. It’s Sydney & Mike’s first anniversary, and what better way for me to document the day than with a blog post?

If I could pick a couple words to describe this day they would be: fun, elegant and beautiful. This lakeside cocktail party was full of so many pretty details, and I’m really excited to share some of them with you. A big thanks to Valerie Halling for perfectly capturing the day and sharing photos with me.

We focused our floral on seasonal blooms and used a mix of cream, blush, raspberry and burgundy to pop against the stunning dusty blue hues incorporated in the wedding party attire and reception napkins.

Centerpieces were created in two different styles to create a bit of visual interest in the tented reception space. I’m a big fan of having different centerpiece styles. It makes the eye travel up and down in a space instead of every table having the same thing. A trio of pillar candles in clear glass vases was accented with loose greens and flowers on half the tables. The other half of the tables featured a footed gold compote bowl overflowing with lush, textural blooms. Gold mercury glass votives were used throughout the space to make the two styles of centerpiece cohesive.

And I’m always a proponent of reusing items to create the most impactful display with items you’ve already paid for. Repurposing the bridal party bouquets down the head table or kings table by chopping them off low and then dropping them into opaque vases gives the illusion of a very lush tablescape without any extra investment.

A huge congratulations again to Sydney & Mike as they celebrate their 1 year anniversary. Thank you for trusting us to create your floral for your special day!

Coelle & Chris are Married!

November 1, 2015

I finally got around to organizing my photos. I simply CANNOT believe there are so many real weddings that I never blogged here. Let’s do something to rectify that, ok?

Chris & Coelle were marred over three years ago, but their wedding was one of my absolute favorites of the 2012 wedding season. I’m going to share it with you this evening! With fabulous photos by Andrea Paradowski Photography it’s no surprise this wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty!

Chris & Coelle were married in the fall but I loved that they decided to do bright shades of orange and yellow instead of a more traditional fall palette. This was our first time doing a wedding at O’Brien BarnΒ and it’s truly a lovely venue. I love a rustic Wisconsin barn wedding!

I love bouts and corsages – they are like tiny little pieces of art. Bright ranunculus pop against the gray neutrals.

Chris and Coelle put so much effort into the little details. A dessert table adorned with a homemade bunting? An apple basket full of programs? So cute!

A huge congrats to Chris and Coelle, and a big thank you to Andrea Paradowski for sharing such lovely photos with us.

Succulent Love

May 19, 2013

Wedding season is upon us. I couldn’t be happier that succulents are still one of this seasons favorites. I think they’re so gorgeous. Hailey’s bridesmaids bouquet above is a glorious example (photo by Kate Romenesko Photography). They are the perfect addition to a rustic wedding day. Are they a bit pricey? Yes. A little extra work with all the wiring? Yes. Worth every penny? YOU BET! Succulents add such a great texture and color to floral arrangements. And as a tiny accent in boutonnieres? So very sweet!

The handmade ring below features tiny succulents glued on an aged brass band. This ring was created as part of a succulent flower bar for a happy hour party! We provided all the supplies and helped guests make their own succulent ring to take home. It was a smashing success.
